FAQ — Cómo usar el directorio de Atlantino para encontrar servicios y publicar tu negocio

How to use Atlantino
Everything you need to find services, post your needs, and list your business.
How do I search for a business or service?
Use the search bar on the home page. You can search by keyword (e.g. "barber", "plumber", "cleaning"), select a location, and filter by category. Click Search and browse the results.
Tip: search in your language — GTranslate will help match results even if listings are in English.
What do the filters do and how should I use them?
Filters help you narrow results:
  • 1Category — select the type of service (Food, Health, Trades, etc.)
  • 2Location — type your city or postal code to find nearby businesses
  • 3Radius — set how far you want to search in miles
  • 4Price range — filter by the price shown on the listing
  • 5Tags — keywords added by the business owner (e.g. "Latino", "Filipino", "halal")
Start broad — search by category first, then apply filters to narrow results.
What is the difference between Business, Classified, Post Your Need and Ridesharing?
  • Business — permanent listings for established businesses (restaurants, barbershops, professionals).
  • Classified — short-term ads for items or services (selling furniture, offering babysitting, etc.).
  • Post Your Need — you describe what you need and the community responds (looking for a mechanic, need help moving, etc.).
  • Ridesharing — offer or find rides within Atlantic Canada.
How do I publish my business or service?
  • 1Click List Your Business in the menu
  • 2Create a free account or sign in
  • 3Choose the listing type: Business, Classified, Post Your Need, or Ridesharing
  • 4Fill in all the fields — the more complete, the more visible your listing
  • 5Upload at least one photo and submit
Publishing is completely free. A complete listing gets up to 5x more views than an incomplete one.
What makes a listing visible and attractive? (Best practices)
Follow these best practices to maximize visibility:
  • 1Title — be specific. "Maria's Latin Food Catering — Saint John NB" beats "Catering service".
  • 2Description — explain what you offer, who you serve, and what makes you different. Minimum 100 words.
  • 3Photos — upload at least 3 real photos (your food, your shop, your work). No stock images.
  • 4Location — add your full address or service area so customers near you can find you.
  • 5Contact info — phone, WhatsApp, email, or website. Make it easy to reach you.
  • 6Tags — add relevant keywords your community searches for (your nationality, your specialty, your city).
  • 7Price — add a starting price or your rate. Listings with prices get more clicks.

What tags should I use and why are they important?
Tags are keywords that help people find your listing when they search. Use words that describe your community, your specialty, and your city.

Avoid generic tags like "service" or "good" — they don't help anyone find you. Be specific.
How long does my listing stay active?
  • Business listings — permanent, stays active until you remove it or your plan expires.
  • Classified ads — active for 15–30 days, then expires automatically.
  • Post Your Need — active for a set period. Mark it as resolved when your need is met.
Update your listing regularly — active and updated listings rank higher in search results.
How do I leave a review for a business?
Open the business listing and scroll to the reviews section at the bottom. Click Leave a Review, rate from 1–5 stars, and write your experience. You need a free account to leave a review.
Reviews help your community make better decisions. If you used a service, take 2 minutes to share your experience.
How do I know a listing is trustworthy?
Look for these trust signals before contacting a business:
  • Star rating and number of reviews — more reviews = more reliable
  • Real photos of the actual business or service
  • Complete address and verifiable location
  • Phone number or WhatsApp — you can verify before visiting
Never pay upfront to someone you haven't verified. Meet in public first for classified transactions.
